The Walla Walla Society of the AIA, in collaboration with Whitman College, hosted a film screening of “La Chimera” (2023) on May 7th. The event included an initial reception with light refreshments. Following this, Society President Sarah Davies delivered a lecture and presentation discussing Etruscan symbolisms related to mirrors, the afterlife, and connecting past, present, and future. Attendees watched the film, and attendees expressed enjoyment, noting audible laughs and gasps during the viewing. More than forty people attended, and several participants later communicated their gratitude for the film and the sense of community fostered by the event. The Society intends to host similar events in the future, seeking films that generate positive attendee responses.
